Fish"dom"
Since it gets hot often during the summer days, more often the social life is found or centered more around the swimming pools and ocean fronts. All water sports are much actively pursued. So my friend decided to take swimming lessons, to get in the water and learn to swim which would keep him more socially active and actively social. He is a regular gym kind of a guy. So this made sense to him.
So, the next thing for him to do was to join a swim class. This, is where the "Treasure Island" was NOT found. This is where the suffering continued internally. All the time that water looked very "inviting", yet he did not seem upto it. There was no sign of a Lifeguard, and there were many families, and young ones frequenting the pool. Why not go in the water, talk to the people there, someone could surely have taught him how to swim??
One day, his neighbor asked him, if he could watch his children for them, as they had something come up. The children were in the swimming pool, and they had to attend to someone. So, what was he waiting for? who was he to say no. He readily agreed and went to sit at the pool. The children were splashing in the water, and looked like having fun. He sat there seeing how they were able to swim like that.
Why not watch how they swim. He might know. So, he watched them swim. It looked pretty ease, since children could do it!.... ON THEIR OWN. Should not be that hard. At all times keep the head out of the water, at least most of it. Use the limbs to move you around. Can't stay stationery. Move, at least float. If that nose is under water, you would only breathe all that water "IN"...HA!HA!HA!... Just imagine, drinking through your nose. He could, choke, he could die?? How was he to breathe? he has to keep his mouth open. That he could open and close, NOT the nose. So the nose is what he had to be careful about.
So, he asked, how do you manage to keep your head out of the water? The child said by using my limbs to swim and keep the water out. Also, I move my head from side to side. It is pretty , much easy once you know how to swim. Yet, you are a kid, I am a big guy. I might sink in this. I cannot keep my weight so light as to be on the top, and swim like you do. I do not know who can hold me so that I can learn to swim on top of the water, like you do. You see I am a big guy. Your parents cannot do it.
You can do one thing, said the child. You go to the store, where they sell these floaties. You buy a floatie your size, and put it around you. Then try to stand in the pool, on the shallow side. Just do that and hold on to those rails on the steps, if you are afraid. That is what my mom told me. Do that, and you can slowly get used to this.
My friend got started onto his swimming. Putting his floatie around , he felt safe. He only had to now make the effort to stay afloat. He knew, that being in water, was not like standing on the ground. He was kind of lying down position, yet had to all the time keep his nose and eyes above the water, keep the hands and legs moving. It is like exercising on a bed... of water. Unlike the fishes, he did not have a mouth on top, where he has a head. That is the basic difference. The fish comes mouth first, eyes, and nose, later. The fish are open, in the open. They do not have to worry about water getting into the eyes, nose and the mouth. Even though they are similar to the reptiles on land, there is this basic difference. Reptiles, breathe air on the ground. While fishes breathe air in the water. Their gills filter the air from the water, and they are good. Not like our haughty noses above the ground.
Our head is well covered, and sits on top of the rest of the body, unlike the reptilians and the fishes. It is more in line with the rest of the body. It also does not have a neck separating it from the rest of the body. Though it is more flexible, and allows us to look around with ease. Compared to these guys who have to turn their whole body in order to do this.
It is important to remember that the reptilian heads are not similar to that of the fishes. Since they are made to work in a different environment. Never to mistake one with the other. For the reptilians, the nose is equally important, along with the mouth. While humans are closer to the reptiles, being on land, should have an understanding and acceptance of the fish world, which may not be a daily experience. This is important, if we want to be able to swim like they do in the water.
Therefore, the man"hood", or the woman"hood", have no basis of envying(jal-an) or comparing with the fish"dom". The fishes have their own world. We should mind our land world, and let the fishes mind theirs. Interact with them as and when needed."copyright"
