Open Mind...
By: Sangita Bhatt
I am about to hit the VERY CORE. The one that no...one is able to STAY in. Is difficult to HOLD.
Where your energies can get frittered away unless channeled. It is like you come out of that hole after hibernating. You peep out and there is a whole wide open sky to look at. It is for you to know where to look, and how far you want to look or can see. It is the myriad of thoughts, knowledge, opinions, memories floating around and it is for you to pick and choose. Easier said than done. This also happens to be the time you want to be free of them all.
You pick a thought and it will lead you to some action or another thought which will again bind you down to the normal routine of daily actions and inaction. An example would explain this in a better way. I want to let's say study a subject - and I have the options of studying it at home or in school. I can learn it myself through books and with the help of the internet; through online schools at home; or go to a regular school to learn it, or hire a tutor. I have these options. I also know the advantages and drawbacks of learning through these different means. The schools will give me a certificate, let's say a proof that i learnt the subject. A tutor will test me on it and do the same. Online schools also have exams. But when I decide to learn this on my own, I do not have third party verification of the fact that i learnt the subject. I still have to sit for an exam through some of the other means. What happened here is, that i learn't, but was not seconded by anyone because i did it on my own. This brings me to the reason for this example. My GOAL was to learn... which i did. But does it count? No. Not unless there is someone else recommending or supporting my statement. So again i get caught in the school system. Access to knowledge is free, but proving that you learn't is difficult. This is just an example to show that, you can choose to gain and even have the talent for it, but you will not be approved by the regular norms of acceptance.
I can go on and on on this topic, you know, when you see the world with an open mind. First and foremost, is that you do not confirm to a lot of the ways in which we live, think, behave, or go about living our daily lives. Being civilized people, we have to and should respect certain ways a person lives. But do not expect that all beliefs, and customs sometimes even traditions are not broken. This is a radical mind, a revolting or a rebelling mind. This is when you realize... there are not many around who are like you. You are an idiot, crazy, stupid, out of your mind and so on. Some of these idiots and crazy's discovered that the earth is not flat, that there is gravity, that humans and animals adapt to their surroundings and evolve over a period of time. I would not be able to write this blog using the internet and the wi-fii. An open mind can encourage and inspire to take actions leading to change or some creation for the good of all. Interrupting, breaking, or disabling such minds is the biggest crime of the century.
