Solar Kulfi

                                                                                                  (Gita Bhatt)

Solar Kulfi

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup lentil
  • ¼ cup flour(plain or wheat)
  • ¼ cup creamer
  • ½ cup milk/condensed milk
  • ½ to 3/4th  cups of sugar(depending on how sweet you want)
  • ½ to ¼ coconut powder
  • coffee/orange/rose/chocolate essence or flavour. You could take chocolate powder or melted chocolate also instead.

Method:

  • Soak 1 cup lentil in warm water until it is softened. Grind the lentil into fine paste.
  • Mix the lentil paste with 1/4th cup flour.
  • Add ½ cup milk(or condensed milk) and 1/4th cup creamer.
  • Add sugar and mix the batter.
  • Add coconut powder and mix once again.
  • Take Solar Cooker Pan, grease it with butter or ghee(clarified butter).
  • Put the batter in the pan; put it in the solar cooker and cook until the it is cooked and thickens.
  • It will take time to cook in the solar cooker, so keep checking after ½ hr. or so depending on the sun.
  • When it is almost done add the desired essence. If adding chocolate then let it melt as desired so add it towards the end when it is almost cooked.
  • When the batter is cooked, get the kulfi cups or moulds(make sure they are ready to be filled), you could use popsicle makers as well. Fill the moulds with the batter, insert icecream sticks into the cups or moulds and set it to freeze.
